What is your primary work area within Eriksholm Research Centre?

I work as a machine learning engineer in the Eriksholm AI team. My primary role is to bridge the gap between research and real-world applications by transforming research output into practical solutions that can benefit hearing aid users.

What originally triggered you interest in the hearing care field?

During my studies at university, I developed a strong interest in neural networks and deep learning, which led me into audio processing. In that space, I discovered that hearing applications offered a wide range of applications. The field of hearing care poses many challenging technical constraints that make the work especially interesting, and it also has the potential to improve people’s lives.

I like analyzing complex problems and finding elegant solutions. In my current role, I am very motivated by the challenge of taking ideas that show promise in research and try to bring them closer to real-world use.

What is the most exciting scientific breakthrough or invention in your time?

Modern semiconductor technology is one of the most remarkable breakthroughs in my view. Today, computer chips are often seen as commodities, but they are in fact incredibly complex microscopic systems. The fact that such advanced technology is so widely available is quite amazing.
