“So in essence, the future [hearing aid] user will never again need to feel alone with a hearing problem or challenging situation.” In his latest article, ‘What’s new in hearing aid technology? Requisites for successful implementation of eHealth in hearing health care’, Senior Director Uwe Andreas Hermann discusses his vision for the future of the hearing aid industry.
In the article, published in the May 2016 edition of ENT & Audiology News, Uwe Hermann draws an outline for the future of hearing aids where your they can adapt to the user’s environment on the fly, and where crowdsourcing technologies will allow hearing aid manufacturers to fine-tune hearing aids to any specific situation.
He envisions a future where clinics move out of the physical and into the digital world whenever this may benefit the hearing aid user. One where hearing care professionals on one end and hearing aid users on the other, can interact across the cloud, and flawlessly handle everything from fitting to after-care on the go.
“eHealth will be part of the sixth big economic wave in the industrialization process of mankind.” – Uwe Andreas Hermann.
